Grazing boards and platters are the natural shape for a shower — they look abundant, guests help themselves, and they hold. A brunch spread suits a late-morning shower. Small plates and sweet things round either out. The menu is custom, so tell us the time of day and the mood.
Dropped off, or set up
Most showers are dropped off ready to serve: the food arrives styled and the host puts it out. For a larger shower, or one at a rented venue, on-site set-up is available so the spread is arranged and looks after itself.
Dietary needs and the guest of honour
A shower guest list is a cross-section of a family: the pregnant guest of honour and what she is avoiding, the gluten-free aunt, the vegan cousin. Those go in at the quote stage and the spread is planned so everyone eats from the same table.

Showers over-invite and under-attend. Give the realistic number, not the invitation count, and say when it will be final.

Advance notice is recommended for events. Weekend daytimes in spring and early summer are busy; send the date early.
