Holiday catering in Oakville and the GTA: how to book Thanksgiving and Christmas without the stress

The holidays are the one week a year everyone wants a chef. Here is how to actually get one.

Every year the same thing happens: a household that has hosted Thanksgiving or Christmas for a decade decides, around the second week of October, that they would rather not cook it. By then the calendar is full. This is how to get ahead of it for holiday catering in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and the GTA.

Book the date before the menu

Advance notice is recommended for events all year, and holidays compress everyone’s requests into the same few days. Send the date through as soon as you know it — even if the guest list is a guess and the menu is a feeling. Availability is confirmed first and the details follow.

Cooked in your home, or dropped off

In your home: Claire cooks the holiday meal in your kitchen, plates or sets it family-style, and clears down. You host. This is the version that gives the day back.

Dropped off: the full meal arrives ready to serve or finish, so the oven does one job and you do none. Suits a household that wants the table to itself.

Traditional or not

The menu is custom either way. A classic turkey table with everything alongside it, or the meal your family actually wants — the roast that is not turkey, the dishes from wherever your family is from, the vegetarian centrepiece for the half of the table that does not eat meat. Allergies and requirements go in at the quote stage.

Decide these three things

  • Headcount, including children.
  • Whether the meal sits down at once or grazes across the afternoon.
  • What the table would be disappointed not to see.

The days around it

Holiday weeks are busy beyond the main meal. In-home meal prep for the days either side — the fridge stocked before guests arrive, or after they leave — is often quoted alongside the event.

Request a quote with the date now. Everything else can wait; the date cannot.
